1. Who we are
STYL (“STYL,” “we,” “us”) is a personal AI wardrobe app that helps you catalog clothing and generate outfit suggestions. STYL is operated by [OWNER NAME], based in [COUNTRY/STATE]. Contact: [CONTACT EMAIL].
2. Information we collect
a. Account information
Your email address, used to sign you in (via a magic link, a password, or a third-party login such as Google if you choose it). If you use Google sign-in, we receive your email and a basic profile identifier from Google — never your Google password.
b. Your photos
STYL’s core feature is photographing your clothing. We store the image and the tags generated from it (category, colors, material, warmth, and similar labels). Photos are private and accessible only to your own account.
On the iPhone app, STYL can only access the specific photos you pick from your camera roll — never your whole photo library. Inexpensive processing steps (downscaling and optional background removal) happen on your device before anything is uploaded.
c. Usage and activity data
Events such as signing in/out, active time, uploads (count and whether background removal was used), tagging outcomes, and errors — plus server-side technical logs (error messages, request identifiers, storage file paths) used to diagnose problems.
d. Location (only if you use weather features)
For weather-aware outfits, STYL uses your approximate location to fetch local weather — either a place name you type, or your device location only if you grant the browser/device permission prompt. Coordinates are sent to the weather service (Open-Meteo) to look up the forecast; we don’t store a location history.
e. Technical/device data
Standard data your browser/device sends automatically (IP address, browser type, timestamps), processed by our infrastructure providers. We do not intentionally collect special-category data (health, biometric, etc.); please don’t upload photos that reveal such information.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the service: store your closet, analyze photos, and generate outfit suggestions.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To operate, debug, and improve the app.
- To communicate about your account (e.g., the sign-in email).
- To enforce usage limits (e.g., a free tagging quota) and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information and do not use your photos for advertising.
4. Third parties we share data with (sub-processors)
| Provider | What they process | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Account data, photos, tags, logs | Database, auth, file storage, hosting |
| Google (Gemini API) | The content of the photos you upload | AI analysis to tag each garment |
| Anthropic (Claude API) | Photo content, only if used as a fallback tagger | Backup AI analysis |
| Open-Meteo | Approximate location (if weather is used) | Local weather lookup |
| [Hosting/CDN] | Technical/request data | Serving the website |
| [Email provider] | Your email address | Sending sign-in emails |
About AI analysis of your photos: to tag your clothing we send the photo to an AI provider (Google Gemini, or Anthropic as a fallback). We call the model with no tools/functions, so the image cannot trigger access to any other data. Whether the provider retains or uses that content is governed by their API data-use terms for the tier we use. [Confirm your tier: on Google’s paid Gemini API, prompt data is not used to train Google’s models; free-tier terms differ. State the accurate version.]
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in a future business transfer — with notice where required.
5. Where your data is stored and how we protect it
Data is stored with Supabase (region [REGION]). We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), private storage, and per-user access rules so you can only access your own closet and no other user can see it. No system is perfectly secure.
6. How long we keep your data
- Account, photos, tags: until you delete the item or your account.
- Usage/error logs: [e.g., 90 days], then deleted or anonymized.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data and to object to certain processing. You can delete individual photos in the app, or request account deletion / a data copy by emailing [CONTACT EMAIL]. We don’t discriminate for exercising these rights.
8. Children’s privacy
STYL is intended for users aged [MINIMUM AGE] and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age; if you believe a child has, contact [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will delete it. [Load-bearing: COPPA (US, under 13) and GDPR-K (EU, under 16) impose real requirements including verifiable parental consent. Set your minimum age with an adult/lawyer.]
9. International users
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own (including the United States), which may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as STYL evolves; we’ll post the new version here and update the date. Material changes will be communicated [how].
